I had both sets of my Chimaera keys stolen during a burglary last night. The car is in a locked garage, so OK for the moment.
Any ideas how to go about replacing both sets of keys and the meta alarm?
I have the owners handbook with the vehicle details including Ignition key no and Remote Key fob no. and a little pack with meta info in.
Based near Huddersfield.
Thanks for any advice.
Tom

Sorry to hear about that, must be an awful experience frown

If the keys were original, there may be a record somewhere (TVR car club?), but as TVR & a lot of original dealers not around now, this maybe v.difficult/impossible.

Your insurers may also require a new set of locks/alarm reset, as they won't want the risk of your car potentially more available to thieves in future. If it's all covered by insurance anyway, you may be able to get your car transported to a approved garage that can replace what you need?

Hope you can get it sorted soon & be back on the road ASAP.

Replace the Ignition barrel and keys with a new set and call Abacus alarms who can provide you with new fobs. These won’t have Tvr logo. This will get you moving the car. Abacus know a lot about the Meta alarm. They will give you all the info you need to either re program your alarm or indeed have to have it replaced.
The guy is great and very helpfull.

I’d disconnect at least two ignition electrical components and drain the fuel out by undoing the hose under the car before the fuel pump. Remove battery.
Clamp a wheel of steering lock. Remove both rear wheels and leave it on stands.
Do something to make them walk away until you can get this resolved.
Vile swines. So sorry to hear this frown

I'm sure the ignition barrel/keys are from a vauxhall cavalier mk3. So the barrel will be easy to change that's what I'd be doing.

Not that expensive

Sorry to hear about this, not good.

This is from an old Chimaera alternative-parts list:

Ignition barrel plus two new keys is Vauxhall part number 90140760

Abacus have previously done write-ups on the TVR alarms, not sure if the contact details below are still current. If they can't help, might be able to suggest someone more local.

Tel: 0208 677 1999 - Email - Mob: 07930 332 362

As others have said, take some immediate steps to secure the car (disconnecting battery is easy - not easy to find for those not in the know) but if you do, make sure you can get back in!

As you presumably don't have any alarm fobs (assuming the car had the std Meta system) , a new alarm might be the easiest/best option.

You have my sympathies.

Eta: I seem to recall that new fobs can only be coded if you still have 1 working fob, but I might be 'mis-remembering' that.

Only trouble is, that yes the barrel is easy to swap out, but it needs the key to be in position 2, so that the latching pawl can be depressed with a pin, to release the barrel.

No keys makes that tricky.

IIRC if the Meta unit is removed from the car and sent to someone like Abacus or a Meta agent they can reset and align new fobs to the control unit scratchchin its as Rigga states concerning the barrel removal

Get a locksmith out to do the barrel,if they're any good they'll just pick it and stick a new one in. Remove the ECU to stop the car going missing for the moment, or remove the alarm and immobilizer boxes as you'll probably need the codes off of them anyway

I replied to your post (OP) in the General Gassing forum.

Dave Fairclough is very helpful. He'll give you no-nonsense options.
Dave lives in the Bedford/Milton Keynes area - so a bit of a distance for you to travel/transport the car??!!
Hope you resolve the issue quickly.
