2006 V8 Vantage Emissions System Service error P0401

Hello all. Had the above error, which, according to my cheap autel scanner is to do with exhaust gas, insufficient pressure ! Have tried a thinkdiag tool but doesn't seem to work with my model/year (originally bought to code spare remote keyfob ). is it worth investing in a better scanner ? Should I jump in and replace PCV valve/ air-oil sperator assembly or could it be a pressure sensor somewhere. The PCV valve seems similar to Jag/landrover ones and there are after market options for those but the AM one is alot more money, the oil air separator OE part is reasonable. Car drives ok and error only seems to occur after a long drive, having stopped for a while and then restarted to return home.

Should I also replace ( clean is possible ) the EGR valve ? Going back through the service history receipts it would appear the oil separator was replaced it 2014 at 26k miles, currently at 55k. There is no evidence of oil vapour/leaks from split hoses that i can see from the top or underneath.
On another note windscreen washer jet performance seems to have deteriorated. Noted from the history that jets have been replaced 3 times in the last 6 years and the whole washer bottle assembly twice in the same period ! ( All AM main dealer ). I have never had to do this on any of my previous cars, some of which I cover 100k plus in during my ownership.

These errors are common
when I bought my car it came on and went it away after a few days then came on again and stayed for a long time then went away.
Turned one of the O2 sensors connectors
I think if you are planning to keep the car you should have a decent OBD2 reader like Foxwell nt520 with Aston Martin software installed. It helped me a lot and cost somewhere around 140GBP shipped from Hong Kong or try ebay UK

You can also reset oil serivce if you are planning to change the oil at an independent.

Managed to get some live data from the autel.
EGR_PCT struggled to get above 35% while picking up the revs, kept dropping to 0 ( revs drop to tickover then pick up again )
EGR_ERR was -100.00%
Can I assume the valve is faulty ?
Quite expensive from AM but appears to be the same as Ford part 5L2Z-9D475-A (explorer/mercury etc ) which is about half the price but cant find a uk/eu source.

I’ve had the emission service required warning just as it was going in for a service and one of the o2 sensors were replaced. Anytime it’s came on since, a spirited drive seems to clear it. Like yourself I have the fault code reader just in case.
Washer jets blocking due to lack of use on my part has happened so just make sure I use them every so often even when I don’t need to.
Another one to watch is your fuel cap release. If you aren’t using the car for a period, periodically go out and open and close the cap.
