There’s a few really good ongoing threads on PH with 1000+ posts.

I don’t know why, but on a few I was browsing I checked back to the OP that started it.
In many cases they still post on PH, but not on that thread any more. For months.

So I can only assume a topic interested then enough to start it, but it grew legs, ran away and is happily living a new life elsewhere hehe

Do you ‘own’ one of these threads?

Or maybe you own a mega-thread, but you’ve kept in touch and still have a great relationship to this day.

Reveal yourselves!

I can't count posts, but I started the covid gardening thread that has become a really great place where lots of us are keeping garden diaries and swappi g tips etc. 107 pages now, and a really nice read for those of us into the hobby.

I started the dog photos thread back in 2009 and it’s now on its 5th volume and over 40000 posts. I’ve looked at it probably 10 times in the last 5 years as I guess I grew bored with it.

I also started this in 2009 and it's still going strong:

I pop in to see what's posted on a daily basis, but rarely add to it anymore. smile

I started the “Spotted: Ordinary Abandoned Vehicles” thread in 2016 but haven’t posted it in years. I still read it occasionally, its an interesting thread.

My biggest thread was one of the Ashes series one, where England won, and we still had four or five Aussies.

Keir Starmer just passed 500 pages, so that’s going better than his career…

On another forum I started a ‘relationship counselling and hugs thread’ which didn’t half get legs!
Nothing on here though, sadly.

I started the 'A bit council' thread and still pop in from time to time. I rarely if ever post on it though. It had morphed from my intended purpose to a let's bash genuine council tenants, most of the time. I like to think there is a bit of council in us all. laugh

Chap (Nick?) who started the 365 days thread belongs here. Reckon he's saved a life or two, but might have no idea!

I did not start the thread but it’s not about cheap fireworks in Manchester, it’s about naughty young men

I started one that I owned for ages. I tried to give it up. Someone else is steering it now. But I still contribute. Despite my best efforts not to.

I'm Dicky. I'm a postaholic.

I started one about 4G Internet years ago that seemed popular and occasionally pops back up as people post in it, normally anything I post either gets a handful of replies or none at all so it was a bit of a shock.

I'm not sure it's 1000+ posts in but it's 15 grown up sized pages now, not so much a "ran off" but a steady stroll that keeps on going despite not being anything close to as exciting as the others mentioned above.

I started the Rolex bubble thread, and I have to say I really enjoy the fact that it is ongoing and has kept largely civil: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

My reader's cars thread is at ~650 posts, but seeing as probably 550 of them are me, I'm not sure it will count if it ever makes 1000+ hehe

It made it to 'readers car of the week' (or whatever the brief PH series was), that was cool getmecoat

I started one on Bangers & Cash as a heads up to people who might be interested in a niche show about cars, that’s over 2500 now. Almost exclusively positive with contributions from the producer too. I rarely post in it but it’s nice to see a thread that isn’t comic or controversial can grow.
