LDV Maxus not priming

Hi all,

I have a 2005 LDV Maxus 2.5L 120hp, bought second hand in Feb and I will admit it did have the edc light on when I purchased it but no issues when starting, now a couple of months later and it fire up from cold but after that you have to prime it from the manual primer on the fuel filter or it will crank but not fire.

Does anyone have an ideas what the cause could be?

The fuel is going one way or the other.

Check for diesel in the oil, if not it is falling back into the tank, so you may have a pump wear issue or a busted check valve if there is one in the line.
