I’ve owned two M140is in the last few years and absolutely loved them. For the price, the performance, practicality and even efficiency is hard to compete with.

It was inevitable I would want to move on from them though and I was set on either the Z4 or M2. No doubt the M2 is the better choice for spirited driving and especially on track. But I went with the Z4!

Why? I am more suited to a more GT natured car. I liked the idea of going slightly different, and I am a huge fan of the b58/zf combo!

Absolutely loving the car, really does do everything I want it to. Final test next week on its first Ring trip. Based on how well the M140i did, I am confident I will have a good time with it!

It’s very nice, but the misspaced plate ruins it.

Once you have seen the plate, the car sort of doesn’t matter any more. I’ll be shouting at the clouds next smile

I love the look of these cars and if the OP is a TV then the plate is perfect and I can see why she's spaced it like that

It's illegally spaced, there's no more said on it.

I like these. Don’t see many around which appeals to me

The 5 characters on the plastic plate don’t ruin the car either.

Plate looks fine to me, and I'm very anal about them. The UK at the side isn't what I have but at least it's normal font etc.

There's a lovely looking Mustang that drives past me every day on the way to work that has extremely italic font plates and it cheapens the car by at least £10k lol.

An interesting choice OP.

I have an older Z4 and spend a lot of time on a dedicated forum. The G29 model seems quite popular but people have had to wait ages to get orders fulfilled, although that's probably been true for most cars the last couple of years!

The UK is just a sticker for my ring trip next week as I couldn’t find a small magnetic one for the car. Will be coming off when back! Prefer it to be simple/clean. I completely agree on italics, weird fonts, dodgy spacing which makes a plate unclear on characters etc.

And I am genuinely shocked how offended people have got! I have correct spacing ones too on velcro which I tend to use most of the time to avoid being pulled/fined. I use these for photos, but yes I do also drive with them on occasions too, especially across the channel!

Yeah as you say, this is true of many cars. There was also a short period of certain items of specification not being available.

I actually went approved used, namely to dodge some of the depreciation though.

I like these but find them quite colour sensitive. White suits them well. They’re pretty rare too, especially compared to the original Z4 which is till see loads of.

Will be interesting to hear how it gets on at the ‘Ring.

My missus isn't a fan of convertibles(although she did have a MK1 Audi TT Roadster years ago), but she really likes these though. They have held their money really well too when I was looking at them on AUC recently.

I walk past a Black one every now and again and I love all the little design details with them. cool

^^ This...

Oh no; the mis-placed lettering on the number plate ruins the whole car... * runs off & cries *... rolleyes

Pathetic!

It's a number plate; don't like it, fine. But don't go whinging about it, it doesn't 'ruin the car'

I've driven both a Z4M40i and an M2 on track at Goodwood (Goodwood Performance Drive) and the gap is not as great as you might think...

Lovely car and definitely on my short list.
