That genuinely upsets me.

I've grown up with the Sweeney & Minder etc.

A terrible shame, grew up watching Dennis on tv, makes me feel very old and quite sad. Rip Dennis.

I know there were issues with Rula but a nice guy.

I joined a golf club and in my first round I played with Dennis. He was very friendly, very welcoming & it was clear he didn’t need to do much acting for many of his roles. After that we would play in same group of guys most weekends. He was a st golfer but never took it too seriously.

As a group we went to Peurto Banus golfing one year, a few of the guys were always out partying, getting pissed. Dennis was happy to have a quiet meal with a few beers with a few of us. Whenever we were out he had a steady stream of middle aged ladies wanting autographs & photos. He always did it with a smile.

A year or so after I’d left the area I went back to the golf club to get something. Dennis was in the bar & as he saw me come in called me over & bought me & my girlfriend (who he didn’t know) a drink.

Despite his issues with Rula, he was very loving & caring for his current wife, you could clearly see that.

RIP Dennis I look forward to a beers & a few rounds of hacking when I join you up there

Aghhhhh bugger! frown

Really sad to hear this news, Sweeney and Minder were a big part of my teenage years. My mates and I used to go to parties and pull up sharpish in our car and jump out shouting ‘sweeney’!

Them were the days.

Massive part of my childhood gone there. Minder and Sweeney my two all time favourite series. What a shame
