All purpose cleaning product for my car interior
Discussion
Hi there, I bought a lovely BMW 640i recently and feel like when I get it cleaned on the inside the guys literally run a damp towel over it for like 5 seconds. I want to do it myself.
I found a really good mat cleaner for spot cleaning stains and I got a cordless hoover. Next step is cleaning the surfaces. The main surfaces are:
- the panels which are plastic
- the high gloss wood finish to the dash / console surrounds
- the leather topped dash
- the steering wheel
- the windscreen interior
- the pedals and beige bits in the footwell
Ideally I'd like one product to cover all of the above bar the glass,of course and wondering what is a good applicator that can get in and around all the nooks and crannies - sorry if this is an absurdly simplistic question but any ideas?
If you would recommend multiple products for the different areas then absolutely no worries. I'll be glad to hear it.

Depends on whether you want to clean something that's really dirty, or wipe over surfaces that are largely clean to start with.
If the latter then I just dust over them and wipe everything with 303 Protectant, including leather seats. I apply it with either a microfibre cloth or microfibre pad, which seems to manage most of the nooks and crannies.

I like to use two paint brushes. One quite stiff brush to get crap out of nooks and crannies, then a softer brush for cleaning in air vents etc.
Then something like Meguiars New Car Scent Protection with a wipe over with a microfibre cloth.
I have a 330i Coupe with a 'similar' interior to yours...... So cream leather door cards and seats, black leather bits and gloss black inserts. I need to use a Vax spot cleaner on the cream coloured mats, but letting my lad and his mates in with muddy football boots puts my cleaning regime to the test....

This stuff is good & not too expensive as you can dilute it considerably - https://www.koch-chemie.com/en/products/pol_star
It shifted spaghetti bolognaise sauce from our son's settee!

Any household APC will do, £1 Tesco diluted down to 1:10. Use a very dense micro fibre though, dont skimp on that to minimise damage.
Loads of different solution for protection afterwards. My favourite is Capro PERL.

I've used everything from 303, Koch-Chemi, Auto Finesse etc etc on interior trim. One product that surprised me was Lidl W5 interior car cleaner and protectant for £1.59. It seemed exactly like every other interior product being a milky liquid and performed just as well leaving a satin sheen.
