Broken Handbrake

My handbreak cable has snapped I think, anybody had this repaired? Is it a wait a month for one to be flown over first class Alitalia?

Will be looking for perfectly flat car parks and avoiding hill starts...

Does the ratchet still make a noise when you pull it. (oh er missus ). If it does then its probably just the cable.
