The best hotel in Central london?

Just wondering which you guys think is the best hotel in London? Price not an issue, but centrality is important.

One of the ones on Park lane is my bet..

Wouldn't absolutely claim it to be the best, but my favourite is Claridges.
There's just something about the place.

The Park Lane Hilton is worth staying in, if just for the view from the Windows restaurant (30 floors up).

Hotel 41 (very, very nice!)
Claridges
Dorchester
Landmark Hotel

If you time it right, you can see the Queen taking tea on her terrace at Buck House

There are loads of "good" hotels, give us a clue for what purpose.

If you're into gold light switches and velvet curtains with tassley bits, go for it (don't forget your monogrammed slippers )

Otherwise, I'd say try One Aldwych, St. Martin's Lane or The Sanderson.

Gatwick is not central London, but I stayed at that hotel(Le'Meridian?)I think it was. Fantastic people there, very friendly and helpful in government/military rates, etc.

I stayed at The Dorchester on Tuesday - it was excellent. It's on Park Lane, so it's very central. There's a car park immediately behind it. It costs a few bob, but they all do in central London.

I quite like the Dorchester but I used to generally stay at the Cavendish. Got it's own car park, just off Piccadilly (back of Fortnums) and it's not a silly price.

The Lanesborough (Hyde Park Corner) without question is the best hotel in London, second would have to be The Halkin!!
