Biggest TVR town
Discussion
We live in a town in The Netherlands officially called "Alphen aan den Rijn" We consider our place the TVR-capital at least oustide of the UK, but may be even including the UK and even have our own pages in the Dutch TVR Car Club magazine called "Blackpool aan den Rijn" where we write about all our events, party's, new cars, The Engine-blow-up-challenge, The Freestyle-challenge and so on, we even have our own "Stig" who tests the several members' cars on the public road. We have in town with approximately 10 different owners(so several guys own a few) as far as I know: 1 new (2004)Tuscan S,1 road legal Tuscan racer, 1 old Tuscan V8 (street legal as well as FIA approved racer) appr. 6 grantura's from which 1 drivable, 4 Vixens (from which 2 drivable) 2 Chimaera's, 1 Griffith 500, 1 old Griffith 400, 1 400 SE, 2 x 350i (one convertible and 1 of only 6 made V8 coupe's) and 3 S's. We developped our own organisation having a clubhome in the form of a caravan which we lifted (renting a crane) on the roofterrace at the house of one of our senior members, because that is close to his private mexican bar. (Don't need to mention that we did this while he was away at work, taking his wife in the complot. When he came home he immediately realised what effect this would have on his beverage stock)We have ouw own code's and humour, for example (no offense btw, don't take it too seriously) we consider Taimars for unclear reasons "not done" and christened them to the TVR's for whimps. We even have our own merchandise-line with for example T-Shirts with FTT written on the back(use your imagination). Now that I wrote all this down, i again realise what a great bunch of friends we have here,we wiil be in Scotland with several other Dutch TVR club members (20 cars, 40 people)in 2 weeks (17-24 of august). If anyone is interested and might want a beer with us, we can make appointments at our hotels. For all you non-believers, ask Pistolar if I lied one single word, he has seen it with his own eyes. For all of you guys who went to the Continental meeting at Zolder last year, we were the guys who did the (much talked and argued about-) Griffith 400 / Tuscan V8 Battle. Sometimes we even don't believe it ourselves.
