6 series conundrum

I've spent some time looking online at the 6 series, E63 and F13 (not convertibles). I've driven examples of both and like them both, petrol or diesel.

Thinking in terms of post-facelift E63s, I can see for sale good-looking examples of the 635d and 640d except the newer version is about twice the price.

Granted, any car I look at should be viewed on its own merits, but is the F13 worth the extra?

If the F13 has the B57 rather than N57, yes. Sadly the N57 is unreliable (timing chains, main bearings).

Face lift e63 630i owner here with the n53 as a daily driver, haven't experienced the later model but any questions on this model fire away!
