Want my engine back!

It's been 2 months now.Car went for MOT and I haven't seen it since....Engine still at V8developments.
Possibly back next week but, God, I miss it soooooo much!!!!! A few pics:

I know how you feel, i notice the heat shield in the engine bay is a bit scorched infact it looks burnt, looks like the manifolds have been glowing a bit bright ?

Yes, I was wondering why the heat-shielding is so burnt. Might explain the need for lengthy repair?

Recommend renewing it whilst the engine is out

Edited to add, where can you get replacement heat shielding from so I can tidy the bay up? Is this easy to fix?

Not me but try tvrcarparts.com, or at least buy a sheet of the aluminium fronted glass roving from Demon tweeks or Think Automotive 020 8568 1172

Anyone here removed the heat shielding from the inner wings?
The heat shielding for sale from Demon Tweeks needs cutting down. Also, is it easy to remove the rivets without damaging the wing?

The conventional way to remove rivets is to drill them out, with care this can be done without damaging the wing.

There is a product which is basically stamped aluminium, not sure where you can buy it but looks very tidy. maybe do a search

You'll probably find that the rivets used are Break stem 1/8th" rivets, drill through the center using a 3mm or 1/8th drill (3mm being smaller) and the rivet SHOULD fall out! remenber that the the part of the rivet that is inside the wing will drop off and stay there and might rattle over bumps.

Hmmm, thanks for replies. Maybe I will just lay new heat shield over the burnt section rather than drilling out the rivets.I think TVR's have enough rattles and shakes without adding further eroneous sounds!

For adhesive i would use high temp epoxy as most contact adhesives soften with heat.
