Can you read this (easily)?

My daughter showed me this from her Instagram feed. Despite every word being misspelt I could read it at normal pace. It seems that isn’t true for everyone.

It seems when I’m reading words I’m not reading the individual letters. That perhaps makes sense of why I’ve struggled with spelling over the years, because I’m not paying much attention to how words are spelt when I read. At least that will be my excuse going forward!!

Lol, my spelling used to be ok until 6 months when i suffered a stroke , it took me 5 weeks to be able to post an update on facebook , poor spelling on facebook did my head in as i struggled to make any sense of the post like you posted up, I couldn’t decide if the spelling was correct or not !

No problem to decipher it at normal reading speed, and as the article says at the bottom 55% of people can do this. I would say that I am average then!

Do you mean the percentage who can’t read it? Or the proposition from Cambridge Uni about how we read? The former doesn’t seem supported by this poll but the latter does as people seem able to read the text with no problem, despite the individual words being mixed up badly.

There's been variants of this going around for years.
Usually followed up by a host of illiterates who use it to justify their attrocious spelling saying it doesn't matter.
