Has anyone had experience claiming the Workplace Charging Scheme grant for a private residence?

HMRC guidance suggests it should be fine "Working from home - If your primary place of work is also a residential property (your home), you can apply for the grant under this scheme as long as your address is listed as your place of business with Companies House or HMRC."

Just wondering if anyone has been through this before.

Looked into it (I work from home) but I was disqualified as I have already had a grant for a charger at home. There is also (iirc) a restriction of the charger location - it must not be in an area that only you can access. So not in your private garage I think

Yes, you can't claim for the workplace grant if you simply WFH but if your business is registered at your home address you can.

Just go here and follow the instructions. it only takes a couple of minutes https://www.apply-workplace-chargepoint-grant.serv...

We have the voucher code but arranging installation is proving a challenge.

Our KIA dealer referred us to PodPoint but the Homecharge team have been thrown by the WCS grant and so referred us to the commercial team. Waiting to hear if the cost is the same for a 'commercial' installation.

Pod Point has now confirmed that their home 'Solo 3' chargers are not on the approved list for the WCS, only the commercial versions which are significantly more expensive, even with the grant.

Plenty of other domestic chargers are approved for homes.
