Touching up stonechips…tool?

Any ideas? Have a few stonechips i want to fill in. Brush that comes with touch up paint is ridiculous. Have been trying toothpicks but it doesn’t work quite as well as I would like… ta

Yep - that’s what I came on here to post. They’re excellent - my local paint place just gives you a handful if you ask nicely.

You can do millions of chips quite quickly.

I saw on a youtube video a hypodermic needle being used to good effect. That was more of a professional job and involved wet sanding etc though.

For real precision and control of touch up paint, consider something like the Loew-Cornell fine line painting pen. I got one having seen it demonstrated on the Ammo detailing channel:

Cocktail stick is easily the best way.
You need to drop the paint into the chip rather than brush it in, and cocktail sticks are perfect, and you get 100s for 99p.
I used to do loads of stone chip touch ups when I was in the motor trade.

Straightened out paper clip - if necessary you can file or sand to make the point finer - or a bit of mig wire.

I bought one of these. Fantastic tool. Bit of a faff filling it and cleaning it but the level of control makes it worth the trouble.

Get a square of toilet paper and twist a corner to a fine point. When it clogs, tear off and repeat.

You can also separate the ply for even finer work.

Thats a great tip for wiping your bum, what about something for stone chips on car paintwork though?

I use one of these too. It gives you an amazing level of control. Yes, it’s a right faff to fill and clean but definitely worth it if you want to do an expert job.
