Hi .I am looking to purchase a 2003 Cooper S. Its only been serviced 4 times in its life and the owner states that is all the system required him to do so. However, I had understood the oil needed changing every year. Is this the official advice or is based purely on the CBS.

Thanks

Every 12000 miles or 2 years, inspection I, then followed by inspection II

What’s the mileage on the car? They reckon it’s only needing servicing 4 times in 19 years?

That would be a warning flag to me. What’s else haven’t they bothered with.

Look for a better one-you’ll find one.
I service mine myself roughly every two years, but definitely less than 5000 miles between.sometimes much less.no stamp in the book but lots of receipts for lovely Fuchs Titan oil.

Sounds like the owner has gone on mileage. If you do get one, get it serviced annually - these are old cars now.
