Well I've done it!

Congratulations on a very sensible move - I really can't wait to get my EV - supposedly it'll get here in October, but i'll believe that when I see it!
Every time I drive my old-fashioned Diesel with an auto I wish I was in an EV
Today's occurrence was a car coming towards me whose wheel trim chose to make a bid for freedom about 20 metres away from me... it proceeded to roll and bounce towards me on a diagonal course - my natural instinct was to floor it so i was out of the way before its path crossed mine. In an EV I would have sprung forward instantly - in my car - nothing happened until it would have been too late. As it happened, it bounced off trajectory so missed me by a few centimeters but it just highlighted how sluggish an ICE vehicle is in response to an EV.

Great choice, I've got the slightly less practical Polestar version, I believe exactly the same battery and twin motors with 408 electric HP. You'll love it, as soon else said above, you won't look back. Outside of a Taycan Turbo, no other daily car I'd swap it for right now, and that's 12 months in. 4.3s to 60 is only half the story, the official figure on mine was 4.9s, but that is way understated. Hell, you can even spend £999 and get the 476bhp over the air upgrade.....
Thanks everyone, considered the Polestar 2 but two large dogs made it a bit impractical. I've read the 0-60 time quoted by Volvo is rather conservative.
The whole buying process was a joy, the salesman told me it was slightly cheaper to buy through Care by Volvo which includes 3 years service, 3 years insurance (although I need to speak to them regarding blue light cover) and 3 years of consumables (excluding tyres). No upselling, no pressure, very straight forward.
I do wonder if Volvo will follow Polestar and release an over the air performance update?

The Polestar one is so tucked away, you’d never really know it’s even available. Do check servicing costs, assuming Polestar 2 is the same:The whole buying process was a joy, the salesman told me it was slightly cheaper to buy through Care by Volvo which includes 3 years service, 3 years insurance (although I need to speak to them regarding blue light cover) and 3 years of consumables (excluding tyres). 27,500 miles now in 12 months, all 4 tyres have 6mm on them. Okay a lot of motorway, but when not on the motorway I blast mine everywhere….
18,000 miles, 1st service = £75(!). 2nd at 36k might need brake fluid but that’s all.
Use One foot everywhere, a park from parking, old fashioned brakes are never really used.
I assume yours will be the same.
Yours I think is possibly the ultimate modern sleeper, especially if they leave the green flag off the plate….
I appreciate all the replies, it was with some trepidation I ordered this car, first electric car, only 4th new car bought in my 30 plus years of motoring and certainly the one I've spent the most on so it's nice to know others have very positive impressions of their electric cars!
Charger wise Volvo have recommended Wallbox, I was thinking Pulsar Plus, any thoughts / comments (I know there is a large thread on this).

We've got a Pod Point Solo 3. Tethered 7m cable 7kW. It came free with my Audi order and was installed in Feb so we've been using it with my Mrs's e-Golf whilst waiting for mine to turn up.
It's straightforward and works, so I'm happy with it. I've not tried doing any timed charging as we're on a flat rate so no benefit of charging at specific times at the moment.
Customer service and the installer both seemed really good - turned up when he was meant to and rang when 30 mins away. Little things, but made things nice and convenient.

Really looking forward to the all-electric XC90 replacement next year. Will break the habit of a lifetime and buy one brand new. Have just bought a 20 plate Current model XC90 hybrid as a stop-gap and it's certainly making me see what all the fuss is about!
Approaching the tipping point now... Like mobile phones in the 90's, all of a sudden people stop mocking and all want one!Part of the reason it's currently a years wait to actually get one...
Just ordered my second new car in my lifetime, MG ZS EV, 51kWhr one. With a rebate 23,000 pounds, may be able to reclaim 3,000 of VAT as well.
Possible delivery by Christmas.
Salesman (in Christchurch NZ) said he is doing 3 day, and we were the 4th that day (last Saturday).
Mrs Caziques finds the range of a very early Leaf very annoying (she can't stand the look of it either).
I make do with the 50 mile range of an eNV200.

Yeah I remember that! As mobile service engineers, we all had radios in our cars to take calls and pagers with a phone card as a backup!!!!Part of the reason it's currently a years wait to actually get one...
Why the hell would we want a mobile phone? They are for idiots, they’ll never catch on, so expensive, so heavy, massive batteries…..

It was probably mentioned more than once that they were a tax free perk for Directors too, just to get the full compliment of anti-EV analogies in!

This is mostly likely the worst advantage of an EV over ICE given so far. lolEvery time I drive my old-fashioned Diesel with an auto I wish I was in an EV
