Making photos public on FlickR

Hi All,

I have used a free FlickR account for hosting photos since the great Photobucket debacle. FlickR want me to make all but 50 of my photos "public" or they will start removing them.

What does it actually mean to make my photos public? Are they going to come up in google search images? And will anyone who has clicked on an image be able to browse through everything on my account?

Everything on there has been shown online at some point, but I don't feel entirely comfortable about just anyone being able to look through all the photos together. There's photos of my house, my cars, other possessions and stuff relating to hobbies. Nothing to worry about in isolation, but together it gives away a lot of information about me.

I've posted many images recently, the simple answer is only to post what your happy with in a public setting. My understanding is, assuming I've read the T&C's correctly, is that there is now more protection given to paid accounts than free ones. I only post images relating to my hobby, I've never understood why anyone would post images their not happy with being in a public domain.
