First trailer out for Prey, the new Predator film, on Hulu in August so possible Disney+ here as it's a Fox film

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11866324/

"Prey (2022)

The origin story of the Predator in the world of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago. Naru, a skilled female warrior, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly-evolved Predators to land on Earth."

Looking forward to this.

Hopefully it's better than when he turned up in the Dark Ages

I'm torn.

The concept sounds really interesting and would be good as a graphic novel, but I don't exactly remember the third act of Predator where Arnie's doing a very similar level of fight being the best bit.

They'll be working hard to stretch it out to a full length film. As something shorter I can definitely see it working but stretched to 90 minutes or more not so much.

At the end of the original Arnie was almost down to a fist fight!

I quite like the idea. As always, hope they don't ruin it. I didn't mind Predators tbf.

Arnie had a spear, bow & arrow, traps, natural camo - so the original had someone doing the same sort of fight so the idea has been used successfully before.

It's just whether you can build a full length film on it.

This is set 300 years ago, so early 1700s. At least in the time it's set, this is a chance for them to link into the flintlock pistol from Predator 2. Even if Pred just has the gun with him while he's hunting Comanches.

Has potential. Let's hope female empowerment in a male based patriarchal culture isn't rammed home.

Due to the concept that is The Predator, a hunter sent into different worlds at different times to hunt the dominate species, I think the franchise could have been so so much better. I am a fan and even though I overlook the recent films I appreciate them for what they are. I like the concept and with good directors and a strong plot the franchise could have been so much more.

Previews suggesting it's the best since the original so fingers crossed it might actually be decent. https://www.empireonline.com/movies/reviews/prey/

I have always thought the Predator's true hunting skills are somewhat clouded in the fact he hides? Surely a true warrior wouldn't use such high tech weaponry and an invisibility cloak, bit of a cheat I think
