Dear all, I'm wondering if I will pass my 1st MOT for A6 avant , it has rear tyres worn on edge, I can't see any damage or visible cords.

That's remarkable. I think I'd be inclined to bin it anyway, get the alignment sorted and buy some new tyres.

Hmm. Even if it passes, I would question what is going on with the alignment.

It will pass but you’ll be onto the cords really quickly so may as well get it sorted now.

Well, well, I thought there had to be visible tread on those outer areas. Seems I was wrong. Was that ever the case?

Thing is, you know there’s something going wrong there - so get it sorted and replace the tyres.

Definitely looks like it needs the alignment sorting

And the first picture looks like there's a nail in there, so I would definitely be looking at replacing the tyre

^^^^ Wot 'e said, I would be changing & getting the alignment sorted as there is clearly an issue with the alignment, tyre cracking & that shard of stone/nail etc.

When that is done the next tyres should also last better.

first picture looks like a nail in the tyre too.

Regardless of what some laws might allow with outer edges...they should be changed.
