Large Socket Set
Discussion
Hi
Needing a socket set with some pretty large sockets in it (up to 50mm).
Are thoughts on this? https://www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/socket-s...

Anything else worth a look?
Cheers

I had that set, it was perfectly decent, though when it was stolen I replaced it with a generic one for about half the price and I've not had any issues with that, either.
If you're dealing with tight stuff, allow enough budget for a nice big breaker bar as well.
If it's stuff that's physically big but not ridiculously tight (e.g. Landie hub nuts), you can still get larger sockets in 1/2" drive.

I hadn't actually clocked on that it's 3/4" drive - everything else here is 1/2".
Impact driver manages most stuff, but the odd tractor wheel nut could be very tight. What generic one did you replace your set with, if you don't mind me asking?
Cheers
It was from a trade stand at an autojumble, but is pretty much identical to this one:

Blimey id like to know what you call tight thenIf you're dealing with tight stuff, allow enough budget for a nice big breaker bar as well.

A Land Rover hub nut I had was 300nm!

Lowering the car off the jack so the full weight of it was on the tyre, and still having it slip against the driveway when trying to unto the nut is one that gave me cause to reevaluate my approach...A Land Rover hub nut I had was 300nm!
Impressed someone got a Landie hub nut up to 300Nm, though, they only need to be nipped up to lock against each other one the bearing's set!
