Anyone got one - what do you think?

I have a GW-M5610 and its great, saw the GBX-100 by chance and it looks nice. I have no need for the Tide function but i think the display is quirky.

Go for it? Yay or nay?

I have the white one and it's ace. Don't use it much but they're really nice wearing watches.

You'll get a better response in the G-Shock thread.

I've recently got one in the beaverbrooks sale for £79 and it definitely feels like an upgrade to the normal square models, the display is great and easy to read unlike standard neg displays.

Copy/Paste from my own response from the other thread. I have the black version, like the one above.

I like it but it isn't perfect.

The screen is amazing and the main home page with the large time font is really easy to read. However, some of the other screens have extremely small fonts. They are rendered nice and sharp but if your eye-sight is faltering, as mine is, you might find some screens difficult to read. The tide function is cool even though I don't need it.

Regarding notifications, it isn't great but is fine for me. Basically it beeps and/or vibrates and I see "Whatsapp" and under it "Helen". Same level of detail for Gmail etc. If I want to read the message, it is multiple button presses and not worth the hassle. I glance down and based on the little bit of info provided I can decide whether or not it's worth getting the phone out but haven't read a full message on the screen since the day I got it a couple of months ago.

It buzzes for every notification my phone receives, even the strange ones like the the oven is done. Unless I'm mistaken, you can't selectively choose which app notifications are allowed and not allowed so you might find it tedious. You can turn them off if you prefer.

Steps and distance work well enough but I haven't tested accuracy. The local time is based on your mobile network so without any adjustment mine is perfectly in-sync with my work PC which is handy.

I switched the rubber strap for a cheap Nato from Amazon. It came with adaptors which extend the "lugs" down another centimetre on each side. I think it made a big difference. Amazon link to Nato Strap
