On a whim - I puchased an entry level George Forman grill ( decade(s) ago saw the QVC type ads for them )
I love the fat reducing side of it - but the grill plates are a pig to clean.

So - I'm looking for a decent replacement with cooking plates that I can remove with ease and shove into the dishwasher. ( Lazy me smile )

And if it smokeless too - that would be a Brucie bonus - don't want the alrm going over every meal time.

Recommendations please.

Thanks in advance.

We've had one of these for a few years and been impressed with it..

Not cheap at full retail but picked ours up as an "open box" special offer type thing so didn't pay full price for it, sure a quick Google will come up with some offers though.

The plates are very easy to remove and the non-stick seems pretty decent so it should survive the dishwasher.

It does take a little bit longer than the cheap George Forman it replaced to heat up but once up to temp it holds the heat really well, have done chicken breast and chops on it without issue whereas the basic one lost its heat and pretty much boiled them rather then grill.

The auto mode times are calculated on the type of food and the measured thickness, they can be a little but fine as an estimate. The manual mode is handy though as you can set a specific temperature instead of it simply being on or off.

With regards to smoke(less) its ok with toasties or fish but there is some smoke / steam when cooking chops, chicken etc - not a silly amount though and certainly no worse than using a frying pan.

There is YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/c/DerOptiGriller of a guy doing different things with one / a similar model in the range, he's not an English speaker but as they say "a picture (or video) paints a thousand words".
