Most significant point seems to be that we are now in the last 3 years of ICE 3 Series - EV only from 2025…

Ironically, with all the chip/Ukraine issues there won’t be as many ICE cars on the used market in years to come. We’ve been warned.

I read it as a EV model would be part of the range of options in the new 3 series in 2025, not that the 3 series would be EV only from 2025

I'm not sure on the interior, the angular screen isn't doing anything for me and the removed physical HVAC controls seems a shame.

I also think it might as well be an EV as the 4 cylinder models aren't that exciting (although very effective I'm sure). It isn't like there is a fuzzy, naturally aspirated manual model in the line up now anyway. If they can sort the range out so it is genuinely usable and doesn't need changing mid journey, then the instant torque, no gearbox refinement and performance is probably what most customers are looking for.

I'm sad to see that the 330d has been dropped for the UK. If I was in charge of things at BMW...it would be the 320d that I would have dropped instead! biggrin

I still have terrible memories of the 4 pot diesel engine in the 520d, and it was an awful engine for me. I do understand why everyone loves the 320d/520d though being fair.

That engine is why I ended up with an E-Class for several years. As I was doing >30k per year, I wanted something wafty that could take the family - think child seats and buggies - plus cover big business mileages without costing too much in fuel to sit at 70ish on motorways. The 520d was ruined by how course the engine was. I could feel vibration through the floor, seats, steer etc. Apparently "they all do that, Sir". Tried an E220, still 4-pot diesel. Couldn't hear or feel the engine, so went Merc.
