My other half is up for a new Co car, and is convinced he read recently about a new S being launched this year which would be on sale in the UK next year.
He seems to think the article said it would be similar in looks to an Aston.
Now he cant find the article and is beginning to think he may have imagined the whole thing after an evening in the company of madame Artois.
Anyone shed any light or is he going senile?
Thanks
Di

There is a new S Type on the cards but I can't recall when it's planned for. I seem to recall the article said it wouldn't be an all-aluminium car like the XJ. I read far too many car mags to recall where I read it though.

M'lady,

The new Jag launched at the Frankfurt motorshow in September is not an S, but the new XK (ALC). It is designed by Ian Callum and his team, who also designed all the new Aston Martin.

Here is a link to some pics:

Will be available in the New Year....................

What he said..

I don't expect a new S-type for a while as it was face-lifted last year when they started putting the diesel engine in. I suspect a new X-type will be first, as they have already stopped selling some of them in them in the US (jag's biggest market), as they allegedly devalued the brand (or maybe they were just not selling enough).

just spent the last 4 days at the factory, the new XK is stunning, better looking than the Aston and probably half the price, people will be drooling and reaching for their cheque books at same time, looks like they are going to have full order books for the forseeable future.
Good luck to them, what a great bunch of people.

Good luck to them yes but the front of the new XK looks like a Mondeo/Cougar. Hope it looks better in the flesh.

So 60maxx, you liked what you saw eh? How about the interior, is it still leather and wood or is it plastic like some of the spy pics show?

I agree, I do know I'm gonna like it, but we shall wait and see.

Anyhow, Jag are doing a pre-launch party in Barnelona on 8.9th Sept, hopefully some pics from that will be screened, then we can all make our minds up.
