Couldn't find another thread on this- anyone been watching it? Affectionate portrayal of 'The French Chef' Julia Child, just finished binge-watching the series & really enjoyed it; Gentle, humorous, feel-good tv, great cast, with yet another fantastic performance by Sarah Lancashire & lovely to see David Hyde Pierce back on tv, along with fellow Frasier regular Bebe Neuwirth.
Might be a bit slow & mundane for some, but I thought it a proper little gem!

Yeah, absolutely. The chemistry between her & David Hyde Pierce -and their devotion to each other- was convincing & genuinely touching. I reckon there'll be a few BAFTAs is in the offing!

Currently watching this on catch-up - up to 6 of 8.

Great TV, both leads in very good form, with Sara Lancashire's portrayal of Julia a cross between Hyacinth Bucket and Angela Lansbury - must try and find some archive material to see what she was really like.

Very pleased to read it's been picked up for a second season.

Has she ever not given an amazing performance? I just don't get why she isn't living in Hollywood and battling Meryl Streep for Oscars.
