I sold my aging Octavia VRS in February and placed an order for this Fiesta ST Line with a lease company. It was advertised as "in stock" and March delivery, yet I took delivery just a few days ago on 20th May. It seems very difficult to get hold of a new car at the moment.

Anyway, I wanted a new car as the VRS was 19 years old and although it ran fine, it's just nice to get into something new where you know everything works, phone connects etc...

The ST Line vignale to give it the full name, seems to have the full options catalogue added as standard.
It had heated seats, heated steering wheel, sat nav, android / apple car play, reverse camera, Led headlights.
My last new car was an Audi S1 and if you wanted heated anything on that it was an option.

It's the 1.0 Ecoboost engine which is a punchy little thing. It isn't going to break any records, but at least won't cost a lot on fuel.

A couple of pictures:

Now the eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed 1 very annoying point, the front number plate is wonky. The rear 1 is also actually.
In fact, Ford have prepped it very poorly.
Upon delivery, the interior was dirty, crumbs in the cup holders, dirty windows, pissed plates and the rear tyres need a bit of air in.

If I was collecting it from a dealer, I wouldnt have taken it. But unfortunately the lead company delivered it and to be honest its so far behind delivery date I just didn't want to wait any longer.
So this coming weekend will be a proper clean and refit of plates, get it up to standard.

I like these OP and very much considered one before buying a Mini.

I prefer the 3 door but that's just me.

I like what they done at the front with the silver trim around the front 'air intake' (infake?)

Those wheels look enormous! I hope you have a young spine smile

I too prefer a 3 door, especially as 99% of the time it's just me. However the deal was good on this and I was told 3 door would be a longer wait.

Wheels are 18 inch, that would have been huge in years gone by but I guess most small cars come with large wheels now.

Lovely car OP.

I really rate the fiesta and think it’s brilliant. Really can’t beat it.

I find the 1L engine to be brilliant and would be my favourite in any of the superminis.

Hope you enjoy it and it serves you well!

These are such a good drive.

It's a shame that the alloy foot pedals and gear knob is part of an option pack now!

I've got a three door 67 plate which I bought 2 and a half years ago to replace my 03 plate MG Tf, which was just getting too unreliable.
The MG was playing up and I needed to take my car to a meeting and I did not trust it, so I rented a car for the week, cheapest I could find, which turned out to be a Fiesta. I had not driven a Fiesta since the 80's and was blown away with how good it was.
Bought my car 2 days later.
Was walking around my local car dealer and saw my new car, did not even drive it, which was somewhat stupid on my part, but it's been great. Amazing what they can get out of a sub 1 litre engine!

Looks lovely OP! Still not sure on the new badge placement in the middle of the grill though…

I’ve got a 68 plate ST Line X which I’ve had for over 3 years now, had a few little niggles here and there (most recent being the washer fluid pump) had it mapped up to 160+ bhp and it’s been great fun for the 3 years I’ve had it. Will be sad to see it go when my Cooper S finally gets built and delivered weeping

1 week in and a few notes.

I like the tech in it. The music system is very good and I like how it displays the artists picture on the screen. Not with every track though.

Good on fuel. I've done 100 miles and it hasn't moved the gauge much.

The boot is decent size, holds my gym bag and work gear easily.

I gave it a clean today and got round to fixing the wonky number plates.

I checked the tyre pressures and the rears were at just 20psi. This along with the plate issue and the fact it was dirty inside really annoys me, I don't think Trustford have done much of a good job at all.

My last Fiesta was a 2012 Zetec S and the steering was sublime. You felt like you had the front wheels in your hands.

The steering has always been great on Fiestas.
I had a 63 plate Titanium for a while and that was similar.

This 2022 has switchable driving modes, I haven't looked into what they do exactly, but the steering feels very sharp in sport.

Had one of these as a pool car, ride was absolutely horrendous on 18”s

Also another manufacturer plonking the screen on the dash like an after thought.

Great handling car though.

I moan about this a lot .... it seems like they forgot the infotainment screen and just said that will do.

Nothing much to report, it's just clocked over the 1000 mile point.
Still haven't polished it.
