Can’t help but feel choosing a narrator who can’t pronounce “nuclear” was a bit of a mistake …

Agreed, not as good as I expected it to be.

You should have known - Ch5 typically farts out things like this to capitalise on the success or notoriety of the subject matter.

After having watched the spellbnding and fabulous TV series I've not felt the need to watch this. Don't hink I'll revise that now.

I haven’t watched either but by coincidence I’m currently reading Chernobyl - History of a tragedy.

Although it tells the story of the disaster and all the poor decisions before and after the explosion it also shows what an awful system the Soviet system of government was and how failure of everything was practically designed in.

I’d like to see either of the series to see how that is touched on.

The series is an extraordinary bit of television.

Accurate in its depiction to the nth degree and cannot be recommended highly enough.

On Amazon Prime I believe.

On YT recently I watched a fascinating lecture from a prof at MiT to some undergrads which walks through the chronology of the Chernobyl incident. It was explained really well. Even as a non scientist I understood it. Worth seeking out.

Edit: found it. "Chernobyl: How It Happened" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ijst4g5KFN0&t=...

Police can't pronounce Burglary, and they are on TV every week.

Give it a decade and Bugalry and Nucular will be the correct pronunciation.
