Alloy wheel colour
Discussion
Hi all,
I have diamond cut wheels on my Panamera at the moment, they're starting to show their age, and various curb marks. I asked the company that did my calipers, who also refurbish wheels, he said he wouldn't be able to cut them again in a diamond cut finish. I'm looking to get them refurbished, and sprayed in a different colour now.
The car is GT silver, I'm not looking at black, as I always find the wheel design can get lost.
This is the design in question, with the car colour

This in a gun metal shade that I like

What do folks recon about Weiss Gold? I've seen it on a blakx panamera, but unsure how it could look with the GT silver.

Speak to Chris at Exel Wheels. He's a wizard and has a loan-wheel policy that'll keep your car on the road whilst he refurbs your wheels.

I had my 911's wheels re-finished in Aurum Gold a couple of years ago and he did a brilliant job.

That would be ideal regarding the loan wheel plan. I shall give him a ring I think. jamesbilluk said:
They look lovely! Especially with the GT silver, I think that's my choice made.
I do love that alloy wheel design as well.
I loved the wheel design rather less when they were the original black with diamond cut silver rim, but in this colour, I completely concur.I do love that alloy wheel design as well.
Mine were redone by Porsche, so should be the official colour, but someone, somewhere (PH? Rennlist? Who knows...) recommended this as an aftermarket source: https://www.alloypaints.com/porsche-0b5-platinum-m...
I obviously can't comment on whether it is or isn't any good, but it references the German name and the paint code.

Very true, I always thought it was a shame to have that wheel design in black, much better to be able to see the details. I did look at getting a set for mine, but then promptly stopped when I saw the price Mine were redone by Porsche, so should be the official colour, but someone, somewhere (PH? Rennlist? Thank you for the link as well, I could speak to Excel wheels with that.

You just need to find a Co. that has the right machinery (lathe?) to re-do the diamond cut face. Can only do that a very few times however. maybe your were too badly kerbed?
The chap I who painted my calipers has the machinery needed for the diamond cutting, I quized him whilst I was there, he doesn't recon they will be able to be cut again sadly. Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
