A 60's or 70's (sure it was 70's) film - two agents in a car pursuing 'bad guys' and a two way radio conversation takes place - but the radio starts breaking up, resulting in missing words / phrase.

When the person in the car handling the radio conversation is asked to repeat what was said - he does so but with all the missing parts of the conversation, something I found rather hilarious at the time.

Does anyone remember what film this was?

Thanks.

Bit more context… British? American? Was it a comedy film or just a funny moment in a more serious movie?

Sounds a bit Naked Gun-ish but they were more 80s I think.

It was an American film. Thinking about the car they were in suggests 70's.

My thinking is that the film was a bit of a spoof comedy, along the lines of Naked Gun etc, but predated that by some margin.

Along the lines of 'Get Smart' but a few years later I think.

It sounds like the humour of the "Police Squad!" TV series.
