Perhaps it's my age (44 on the queen's jubilee, yep you all get a day off to celebrate) or that I get to drive a fair few new cars. I'm getting more enjoyment from driving an entry model 1997 Toyota Celica 1.8st over my 2019 fiesta ST2.

I've owned both for a couple of months. To paint the back story, we also have a double cab transit custom which gets used daily for work and family (replaced a van and 2015 520d estate that was renamed). I thought was time to have a toy in the drive, so the fiesta appeared (VIA BCA online). Around the same time a friend who owns a garage asked me if I wanted to buy a Toyota Celica, my reply was why?? Well my son had recently passed his driving test and he loves the (to him) retro stuff, so we went half on it, with a view he would have it for his 2nd car with a years no claims behind him

With a the fiesta and Celica both taxed and Insured I find the Toyota a more pleasing place to be. It's more simplistic,. Has a sunroof which is superb,. The gear change is better than most cars I get to drive, pulls 5th gear from 30mph (gearing is short), and has character. Yes the fiesta is quicker, but I just end up driving it that way. At car meets and gatherings more people talk to us in the Celica over the fiesta. I guess it's the less seen car

Sorry for the waffle, English was not a strong point for me at school.
