Too good to be true?

Has anyone done this, i.e. claimed an unregistered house or land? Has anyone used this website and it's services or know who is behind this?

I was wondering if these sites might be the bottom of the village pond or something! In other words there has to be a good reason why no one has claimed some of them. On the other hand it wouldn't surprise me if the odd bit of decent property fell through the cracks of our systems.

I agree that you have to ask why they don't take it for themselves.

Splitting hairs, I know, but I don't think you have to live on the land for 12 years, just prove that you have had continuously used it, unchallenged, for that length of time.

IIRC you just need to have fenced it off and used it.

Though it may be possible to find land that is unused and unclaimed, the chances are that it is that way because it's in an inconvenient location, has few (or no) services and has no planning permission.

You might be able to find some corner of an unused field somewhere, but what use is that to you? If there is no current residential use, you will probably not be able to get planning permission for anything - it will most likely have to remain as wasteland. You have to get permission even if you just want to turn it into a nice lawn, never mind putting any buildings on it.

....but really, you are wasting your time! If there was a quick, profitable way to claim this land, do you not think that it would still be sitting around?
