My wife had a fight with a pole. She lost. Based on people's experience is this a repair or replace job?

I'd repair it as cheaply as you can. So long as there aren't any sharp edges it won't attract any attention and will pass an MOT (if necessary).

If you replace it there's always the chance she'll hit it again. smile

Before anyone accuses me of sexism I've done exactly the same - hit a low bollard, repaired the car, then hit another one. I'm a pretty terrible driver...

Black A3 bumper should be pretty easy to find. I’d replace with a good secondhand one.

1. What's the car worth?
2. How good are your DIY skills?

To my mind the textbook says "replace". But if you can fix it up sensibly with some araldite, filler and paint you're away and laughing. It's gotta be worth a try for £20

I would replace purely for asthetics.

Its an realatively easy diy job if you have a helper.

A bodyshop will do it for a couple of hundred quid.

Combination for me - repair the bumper but replace the buzzer for the parking sensors with something like this:

If you mount it to the back of her headrest, it might just gain her attention and ensure no more of our Eastern European friends are put at risk.

DIY skills are good but the paint job isn't going to get matched without a full bumper re-spray.

It's A3 etron (no cut outs for exhaust etc)

Bumper I've found for £180 but needs respray. Anyone know what a bumper respray should cost?

Thanks

You see them, shame the pole didn't (apparently)

May vary widely depending where in the country you are - and whether you just want it painted or old one removed & replacement fitted as well.
Be better giving an idea of your location & seeing if you get any recommendations.

May be doable if you took it off and plastic welded from the back and then added some filler etc. maybe get a smart repair to finish it off but all very time consuming.
I’d say around £300 for a complete re paint only.

Phone around car dismantlers and find another rear bumper in correct colour and spec, and then replace would be my vote! - Replacement will come pre "aged" so wont look out of place.
