Has anyone got good experience of the mild hybrid B58 in the M40i cars VS the B58 in the same cars before they brought out hybrid?

I’m thinking specifically of the B58 in the M340i at ~376bhp.

I’ve got a 2019 before the mild hybrid and do notice a fair bit when pulling away from a stop or giving it gas from a light throttle that it does hesitate a bit. Was wondering if the mild hybrid solves the issue?

Had a previous gen 440i GC, and now have a mild hybrid m340i.

Hesitation is still there, it's more to do with the throttle and gearbox mapping I believe.

Putting it into sport removes the hesitation altogether.

The hybrid must be helping then as I get the same issue in sport or comfort / adaptive

Can't you configure the profiles on these cars?

I never noticed a hesitation on mine at all though! I had the pre-hybrid 340i.

I have a previous generation 440i and have never felt any hesitation regardless of driving mode.

Maybe it’s an emissions / software thing. I had a 435d 2016 and that was fine. The M340i has a hesitation if you give it a decent throttle input from a stop.
To be fair my wife’s 128ti is even worse. There can be some hairy moments when you go to pull out of a roundabout and nothing happens for what seems like a second or two. In reality I don’t know how long the hesitation is but it is pronounced

Is that possibly catching it off turbo?

Well yeah it’s off boost as it’s pulling away from tickover.

That’s the reason for the post as I’m wondering if the instant kick from the mild hybrid system resolves the issue?
