Lexus NX heat shield vibration

NX developed a vibration at idle, looks like a heat shield above rear section of exhaust has sheared two bolts so only one connects, making it vibrate

Will see if I can locate a replacement, but in the mean time I was thinking of using some sort of heat resistant exhaust tape to stop it sounding like a 90's fiat, does anyone recommend a particular brand?

No recommendations on the tape you're looking for, but if the shield is flapping then the last remaining attachment might fail quite quickly.

Yeah thats why I'm thinking tape it down to either the exhaust itsself or the underside with something the equivalent of heat proof duct tape, alternatively remove the heat shield and wrap the exhaust with something like this

Knowing lexus it could well be £500+ for a small sheet of metal, and given old people drive Lexuses they don't go quick enough to write them off for the 2nd hand market.

I think it seats under the fuel tank so I assume its there for a very good reason...

As a temp fix, can you drill a couple of holes in the shield and wire it to the original bolt, to stabilise it?

No, that bit of metal has come away, ie so bolt wjth a bit of the broken off metal is still attached to the car.

That has given me an idea though of using 2 extra large washers and put bolt through them to hold the metal part in place.

That is my usual fix for this issue.
