Would you wait for 77 plate if car is delivered in August
Discussion
So I have a expected build date for base 992 on 7/7/22. My dealer thinks car will be in the showroom in end of July or early August. Would you take the car whenever it’s available and enjoy it or wait a couple of weeks (if August delivery) to get a 72 plate. What would you do?

Five years is a bit of a wait

Mine is due to arrive end of July/beginning of August, I've told my dealer I want it ASAP and as soon as it arrives. 22/72 plate makes no difference to me and won't effect residuals in my opinion. It's the Porsche build date that is more important, not what plate the UK Govt decide should be on your car!

i think it will play on their mind thats all. It bothered them enough to raise their concern on a public forum, and despite the solid responses I feel they will loose sleep over it. Wait a few weeks, everyone ends up happy. simples.
These groups are just for fun and to have a discussion. No one is too bothered or losing sleep. Maybe you can relax a bit. Edited by Docmem on Monday 6th June 22:04

I think it would need to be a few days not weeks to make it worth while in a just for fun terms. Since they added in the twice a year plate change it’s not longer a big deal. Plus if dating the car bothers anyone one private plates are a few hundred quid. Edited by Docmem on Monday 6th June 22:05
It’s generally three weeks from rolling off the production line to getting the keys. Although as so many new 911’s seem to run on private plates there was only a few to chose from on the stock plates from the dealer. This time I’ve got a cheap standard 22 plate to go on my July car so its easy to remember when paying for parking.
