Fun of the fair
Discussion
Hung around the funfair the other night while I was waiting for the balloons to take off. Haven't taken many of these before. Not sure which of these captures it best. Which do you enjoy ? All comments welcome from everyone.

The first one is best I think, because you can see the people on the ride.
My personal feeling is that they could all do with being a longer exposure, giving longer light trails.
I assume the angle of view is because you were resting the camera on the ground? If so, go back with a tripod and either later at night or with a polariser or ND filter to give longer shutter speeds. there are some great pictures to be had:

I go for (1) because you can see the people as well as the blur. You might like to try this again towards dusk and experiment with fill-flash, using ambient light to get the motion blur but flash to freeze people. The possibilities are endless!
How about Rotate, Crop, Levels and selective Sharpen?

Yep, think I'll have to go back and try again. I was only using my compact which was hand held. The flash came from the huge strobes at the side of the ride, hence that big white area of flare on the right hand side. Still getting used to the idea of blasting off dozens of photos, reviewing them at the time and just picking the best one or two ! I'll have to experiment with manual exposure as well. Ah well, have to wait till next time the fair is in town now...
