Hi there

So I've purchased a GT3 from a private seller, which has around 22 months remaining OPC warranty.

So the log book is now in my name, the warranty documents are in his name.

My questions are:

1. Do I need to get the warranty changed to my name? The guy I purchased from is a friend so I can speak to him anytime I need to.
2. Is there any limit to how many times the warranty can be transferred? If I transfer it to my name but decide to sell the car in 12 months, can the warranty be transfer to another new owner again?
3. Anything else I should be doing?

The OPC warranty is tied to the car and not the owner and is transferable between owners when selling. However the same OPC warranty runs with a European breakdown cover which needs to be in the name of the current owner. Based on this I would get the warranty updated into your name even just for breakdown cover.
A quick phone call to your OPC will clarify things and point you in the right direction rather than taking advice from online experts such as myself.biggrin

I went through this last year. It's really straightforward.
There is a 'Change of Customer Details' form that you need to email to 'enquiry@porsche.co.uk' along with a scan of the V5 once it is in your name.
Warranty will transfer to you and will be confirmed within 27 days.

PM me if you want a copy of the form.

As above, I've done this a number of times hassle free.

Here is the form:
