Focus ST to Jaguar F-Pace

Toying with the idea of getting rid of my Focus ST and getting one of these. The reason being that I don't use the Focus as much these days for commuting (50 mile B road round trip), it tends to only get used at weekends for longer trips, so something more comfortable with an auto-box makes more sense. The rest of the time we use my wife's JCW Mini so we'd still have the "fun" box ticked.
Has anyone got much experience of the F-Pace? My preference would be petrol, I see they do a 2.0 with a similar power output to my ST, but I worry it would feel a bit sluggish and underwhelming in a larger car. The supercharged V6 petrol would be nice but decent examples are pushing the top end of the budget (budget is £25-30k ish) and although fuel economy is not my main concern I worry it would be a little too thirsty.
The car would be used mainly for longer motorway/A road runs and occasionally for my commute, I doubt it would do more than 8k miles a year so not really a need for diesel (I'm not against the idea of the V6 diesel, but not interested in the 4-pot).
Happy for other make/model suggestions, but the German options leave me a little cold.

I think most main stream SUV’s are going to feel underwhelming after the Focus ST. It’s apples and pears.
That said, the F-Pace IMHO is a handsome thing and given the funds it would be high on my list.
Maybe go and test drive a few different brands and see which work for you best. For your mileage I do think petrol is the way forward, and I think some of the new Ingenium (sp?) lumps are pretty good.

I actually test drove a few cars in this category recently, 2016/15 Audi SQ5 Plus tdi was pretty punchy and interesting for a diesel. The fpace S petrol v6 (340 or 380) both sound amazing but the averages on them were similar to my x3 m40i (26 mpg ish driving how I want)but the jag is a little slower. I drove a diesel and it was OK but if I had to have a TDI it would be the SQ5 (make sure its specced with dynamic mode as without it doesn't sound as interesting and on this shape it isn't standard)
I tried a 17 SQ5 petrol if you can get one of those in budget and it was ok, felt on par with the f pace v6 for performance but didn't sound as good or look as nice outside but the interior was slightly better (I think maybe slightly better mpg) - figures on this for PCP were 370 per mo with 5k down at 6%
I didn't get to try the Macan as I went for PCP so it worked out more pricey, (500ish per mo with 5k down) I went for the x3 on 5k down and 400/mo at 6%. Throwing in figures in case it helps anyone

We had the 2.0 4 pot diesel for just over two years from new (roughly 20,000 miles). It drove well and generally was a nice car and I really loved the look of it. However, perceived quality (trim, upholstery, buttons) was very poor. Things like the paint on the start/stop rubbed off after about a year. It put me off getting another Jag.

In the real world the fuel numbers aren't actually that far apart for the 2.0T vs the 3.0S as you work the 2.0T harder.Has anyone got much experience of the F-Pace? Have you looked at the Stelvio they're a very good car & you'll get one with the balance of the 5 year warranty left too.

The 3.0d's aren't much cheaper so I'd keep looking for the 3.0S.
