This has popped up in my Facebook feed - and it's claimed to be a BMW engine - but unless it's from an 'X' drive I'm not sure, given the driveshafts?

It's obviously a 'V' (probably V8) but that's all I can tell from the image.

Looks like a BMW S63 engine....?

Edit - although could be the more mainstream N63 which the S63 is derived from - I just always jump to the M version ha ha ha

intercooler/airbox thingies too small for S63 so i'd vote for n63. Not sure what the driveshafts are, presumably some x-drive type thing. Edit ah yes box is on the back and you can see the transfer shaft heading under the engine. So that rules out any M version, i think, so defo N63 or the v12 equivalent (doesn't look like a 12, but hard to say).

Also wow that's a lotta a spaghetti !!

That is not an engine, it is a Scottish musicians scrap yard.
