New vehicle delivery times
Discussion
I know new car deliveries are currently impacted by various global events, but just how bad are some delivery times.
My wife ordered a Bayon in February, and it's currently at sea, for delivery next month, for a factory order I don't think thats bad, even in normal times.
But a friend looked at ordering a Transit custom last week, and told there is potentially a 30 month wait, thats pretty much just into 2025.
Are some brands/models really that bad?

Don't really understand this unless they're dead set on a really particular spec/colour. Should be able to get L1/L2 Limiteds within a few months tops now. He should speak to someone else who can be bothered to keep looking for a physical unitI bought my wife a new car that was advertised ready to go in the colour and spec she wanted sitting at a dealership not too far away after being told by another dealer there is a 8 month wait.
No waiting with 1 mile on the clock and i got a little off the price.
Certainly worth looking to see what is out there

He's a self employed courier, who also subs himself out to a few companies. So colour could be important (I know some companies insist on certain colours, even for contractors) not sure about spec, will pass your comment on to him.

No disrespect intended, but why would you wait for a new Tiguan when there are 84 new ones on Autotrader, most sat in showrooms or with short delivery times?
I am sure if you rang every dealer with one advertised you will find they are not real or they will be full retail price and not eligible for PCP etc.twing said:

Ford are only selling available pipeline commercial stock to new customers. They will not currently let any business with existing fleet terms buy unless it has been factory ordered by them even if they want to pay the advertised price.Auto810graphy said:

Unlikely to have terms though, I'm finally getting offered new Customs but always a batch of the same colour/specAuto810graphy said:

If you look at the first one, the discount offered is in fact a PCP deposit contribution, so clearly eligible for PCP.
Unless of course all those dealers are lying...

Obviously I can't mention where I work on here but on any given day I'll have new available, below list. Not on PCP admittedly as I'm not a main dealertimbo999 said:

No offence taken sir!At the time (last summer) I was certainly aware that delivery times were extending and I wanted the car for 1st week March this year to replace the outgoing Arteon lease.
The deal offered was 10% off list plus £1,750 finance company contribution which amounted to a substantial discount. With the intervening VW price rises (three since then) its even more substantial.
I was not too bothered about colour but wanted a couple of specific options on an R-Line (or rather the wife did!).
I had not appreciated there are are that many new Tiguans sitting at dealers so that's very interesting. Price wise I see that most of them are being offered with a nominal £500 off or if its a larger discount its subject to finance being taken so that amounts to the finance company's contribution only of £1200 to £1500 (ie; no discount).
So my deal for an R-Line DSG with options is costing around the same as the base model manual cars with no options in that list of 83 which makes me very happy.
On the other hand I don't have the car yet!
