I would respectfully ask the mods to consider readmitting Ian316 and Charles de Gaulle to Pistonheads with whatever assurances about their future behaviour you see fit. With the assistance of these two, the Barge thread must have have been just about the fastest moving motoring thread on the internet, especially during the pandemic, and these two users were a key part of it. I bet any motoring media business would have loved to have such engagement. It is also my impression that their offences were minor compared to what seems to be tolerated in other threads.

Must admit this has done a lot of damage for the good will I had towards PH and as a result post elsewhere more now.

In a forum with so much hate and anger and unacceptable behaviour, giving Ian a permanent ban just makes the whole system and rule structure appear to be absolute nonsense and the people who donate their time to moderate look like complete jobsworths. Rules are applied at random and with little clarification of where the lines are drawn and the members who make the forum what it is are shown so little respect.
