Want to replace these that hold the wheel arch liners in place; but bloody'ell they're expensive!

Any suggestions of what to use instead of them that don't cost the earth?!

More than likely; they're to hold the wheel arch liners in place - I was ideally looking for 8mm bolt heads but will order some and see how they are

My experience of using cheap crap screws off eBay is that they will rust very quickly, especially when used in areas subjected to a lot of moisture.

That I get; but Hack engineering only have 19 of them...

I'll get them ordered too, but the others are worth a look at

Nope; they get a bad rap. Sell a lot via eBay; all comes from the Eastern Bloc, if it ever lands at all!

Know too many folk that have ordered stuff from them and it's either arrived damaged and they've refused a refund or it's never landed at all and it's been a nightmare to get their monies back

Never had a problem with them in 3 years I have used them.

Give Cotswolds BMW a call, they're on loads of bmw forums that give discount, maybe not now the world is screwed

I'm not looking for the OEM version; they're silly price no matter who's selling them

As requested, I'm after a similar spec bolt/screw

Search online for 'acme screws'.

Plenty of buying options though most will not be as well protected against corrosion as BMW OE.

I managed to source some stainless versions for the wheel arch liners of my M5 some years ago but unfortunately can't remember where I bought them.

If you want them with the captive washer, then they are almost a BMW specific part, hence the markup at the dealers
If you are happy to have them without the captive washer, and use a non-captive washer - then they are DIN 7976 and are available from people like Spalding Fasteners
They are available in stainless too but if you want the black look, then spray them with suitable paint.
If you send me a PM, I think I may have some non-captive washer versions at home.
I’m sure we can come to a very favourable deal…
