I got a call from a friend who is planning to visit crop circles. I asked what was that and he said it is not a natural phenomenon. I think it is a prank done by some people just for the sake of it.

Of course it's a prank. Not much more to say.

It's often/mostly done without permission in the dead of night, so criminal damage by idiots mainly.

Of course if permission is given then they are quite nice to look at but fairly pointless.

Wrong, nothing known to man could flatten crops, it's aliens using technology so advanced we couldn't even begin to comprehend it.

Nice art if you like geometric patterns on a grand scale but best viewed from above in a spaceship.

Has anyone or group of individuals ever been arrested or apprehended for doing them?

Seems they are pretty talented individuals to do such an intricate "some of them" pattern in the middle of the night in the pitch dark, making them perfect to view from above.... interesting debate I know, but I'm not convinced it's pranksters, not enough time the night, o being as quiet as they can be, to do such a thing surely...without raising any suspicion from landowners, passerbys etc....I dunno

Perhaps it's Neil Buchanan from Art Attack, he did some cool overhead art in fields

Nope, they get shot and fed to the pigs.

You could have enjoyed some extra juicy bacon this morning thanks to an unforunate crop circle prankster smile

Jim Schnabel's "Round in circles" is good reading on the subject.

They're all made by people.

Pranksters. I want it to be aliens, but it's just incredibly unlikely. Same with UFOs really; why hasn't there been an exponential rise in the numbers of decent photos now that most of us are walking around with reasonable quality phone-cameras? It has to be because they don't exist, surely?

"I want to believe" to quote Fox Mulder, but the evidence just isn't there.

some are hugely complex patterns, so it's not a drunk bloke with tennis rackets on his feet.

Amazing what you can do with some wood & a piece of string. rolleyes

There have been various forms of these for thousands of years... & UFO’s didn’t exist then. scratchchin

NB: They also do some fantastic designs on the beaches... just using a rake.

They live amongst us. Not aliens. Idiots.

Ask yourself this

If you were a species that had the intelligence and technology to fly far far through the universe, then why the fk would you bother stopping here?

What could they learn?
How to kill each other, starve each other, st in our own nest so badly we will kill future generations?
If I were them I'd keep right on going and give this planet a 1 star review on trip advisor.
