Unusual request from car buyer

Evening all.
I've just sold a car on eBay. The buyer has made a slightly unusual request. He's coming a couple of hundred miles to collect the car from me, and rather than take the train, he's proposing to drive his old car up (which is a cheap runaround) and has asked me if I'd be okay with him leaving it with me and for me to get it scrapped. He's offered to let me keep any money it makes for my trouble.
Does this sound like a reasonable enough idea?

He'd have to transfer it to you, you'd have to wait for the new V5 and then call a scrappy. In the meantime you'd be responsible for any tickets, fines, tax etc...
Just tell him he can leave it in a street nearby and have it arranged to be taken away if he likes but don't let it become your responsibility.

You don't need the V5 to scrap it let alone transfer the car to you. I scrapped my lads car without the V5, different address as well ..he lives 60 miles away. The scrappie handles all that. I rang them, took it up in 10 mins , filled out a form, they checked the boot wasn't full of junk and gave me £300. The owner then does something with the V5, can't recall if it was online or not.

No, it went in my account within a few days. I must admit I was surprised I didn't need the V5. It had flunked its MOT big time and was time to go. I rang them stating my lad was the owner and had the V5, no problemo. I did an online quote and took it straight up.Its a proper outfit but handy for me as just up the road. The lad has confirmed he filled out something online after, details of the scrapyard etc

Don't understand the reluctance. You're not going to be held for parking tickets prior to the transfer. V5 takes a few days. Car worth £300 in scrap.
I know PH is full of people more wealthy than me, but still turning down £300 of free money sems slightly odd. Especially as the car can be kept in a remote part of the estate until the scrap man turns up.

Could be innocent, but I'd personally not get involved.
Why would someone just give a car to you? Even for scrap value?
If he wants an easy way to get shot of his car, tell him to park it up somewhere (presumably it's taxed/MOT'd, otherwise he wouldn't be driving it) and arrange a scrapper to collect it from there himself.
