mini van for my son recommendations please?

Not quite sure where to post this, but my son needs a little van for his business, Peugot Partner, VW Caddy size, budget is around 4k, 5k tops if it's got VAT on. Not heavy work just buzzing around.

Any recommedations/warnings of what to look out for? I've seen some shocking MOT histories!

I have a caddy and think its the bees knees but the 1.6tdi engine does suffer injector problems which is a shame. I dont think you'll get a 2.0 tdi for the budget but you would get a 2.0 sdi or 1.9tdi in the pre facelift. I've never heard anything bad about pug partners/citroen berlingos but they're just not as nice to look at

Youd get a decent age&mileage nemo/bipper for well under budget too but idk anything about them

I’m only saying this as a friend of mine has one for her little antiques business, she was looking for a van but they were expensive, high miles and high insurance costs

So she bought the “passenger” version which does the job for her perfectly

C3 Picasso has a surprising amount of space inside, so a good alternative to the Partner/Berlingo. Drives OK too, as it's based on a car, not a van.

Is your Son VAT reg’d? Not only can you get a much, much better example of a vehicle in ‘car fashion’ you’re also not paying the VAT (if it’s a VAT vehicle) as well. Something else to consider….
