Hi all, I need to buy some splitter tape to help fix the front splitter back onto my car. I cannot believe how expensive this stuff is https://www.design911.co.uk/parts/00004320483/?sou... I know the price of everything is increasing but I refuse to spend £125 on some tape!

Does anyone have the 3M part number please as I believe this tape is made by 3M and supplied to Porsche.

Thanks in advance.

Google “Reliable Source Tapes” - biggest supplier of tapes of all shapes and purposes in the U.K. They would be able to helps. Btw, the tape isn’t really necessary to hold the splitter in place. The expansion rivets do the real holding. Have had mine on the limiter in 6th and the splitter is still there with no tape…

just use double sided carpet tape I did on my 96RS......remember the splitter is meant to come off if it grounds out heavily as you don't want to bust the front PU as well....

Thanks for all the replies. Have just bought what you suggested Jamie. Why Porsche charge £125 for some tape is beyond me.

There is no way that will stay on with tape. Just saying.

As far as I am aware, the clips hold up the splitter (allowing it to break free if any impact is that serious and saves the PU unit).

The role of the tape is to seal the air gap between the splitter and PU unit to reduce air prising the splitter apart at high speed.

If your splitter has come off a few times before and the holes/clips are a bit loosened, then using a non-taped splitter at high speed can result in it just flying off (eg on hanger straight smile)
