The guy drove it to this evening pub meet.

Not exactly a comfy ride.

But surely not today? DVLA says 9647X9 is an invalid number. I know the car is zero road tax but can you drive it legally with that number showing.

It's Ivan Dutton's 1914 Peugeot Grand Prix re-creation. The engine, however, is a 10 litre Hall-Scott A7A.

Thanks for the info Roy, so it’s not an original Peugeot model.

Ivan is an absolute legend, still not gotten over not managing to be top-bidder on his Alvis 'Grey Lady' racer when that went through auction years ago cry

He used to live about 8 houses down from my Grandparents until the family all moved out to the farm about 40-45 years ago. Back when I was a yoof, I can remember his Capri racer used to sit on a car trailer in the front garden/driveway.

What a great car that must be to drive. There is also another interesting car in the background of the first image, any ideas?

It’s a Ford model T, there was two there, the 6 Bells have a massive turnout , must have been well over 100 cars. Piston Heads Heavon.

Thanks, curiosity quenched. If that’s the calibre of cars that show up - WoW.

For those of you who don't know about the 6 Bells classic car meet, its well worth the trip ( weather permitting) the lovely old pub has a BBQ, real ale, and there is plenty of parking for your pride and joy.

Was this the one, pedalled by the immortal Gerry Marshall at Goodwood 2004
