You'd have to be Uber rich to decide to spunk 44 grand on this rather than every other superbike currently out there .

Be nice in the living room mind.

Thanks for posting. I wasn’t aware of any reviews so good to see Fagan give us his thoughts. I saw both the SV and CF at the custom bike show a couple of weeks ago. Lovely looking things - I preferred the naked CF of the 2, and I’m really pleased they’ve got (very) serious money behind them now.

I think if I was going to spend £40K on a Norton though, I’d struggle to look past this:

Looks gaudy and crass. Why all the polished nonsense and awful candy wheels.

For that sort of money it should have top notch gear on it everywhere and be ‘purposeful’ not look like a tarted up vacuous fool doing tik tok.

Thats the problem with small batch manufacturing. You have to spread tooling costs across a small number of untis.

All that carbon, if it is made in the UK, that is going to cost a fortune in effort and moulds alone!

Couldn't agree more, looks dated and ugly, especially the "droopy" front end, same as the rear of the old 961, I'd rank every other litre sportsbike ahead of that on looks alone, even the gixxerbiggrin and no doubt they'll all beat the Norton in unbiased back to back tests, if they're allowed this time.
But I suppose none of that will matter to investors who won't ride them.
Not sure why they've spent all that money to bring it back from the dead, should have just paid off the previous "investors" and moved on.

My friend had one of those. It was loud.

Why is the rear shock reservoir pointing directly at the hugger?

Doesn't look like there's a lot of room between them but presumably that's all been thought out (as they did with the front mudguard on that yellow 961...) and it'll be fine on the rare occasion it's ridden by a larger person down a bumpy road

My friend had one of those. It was loud.
Was it any good? I mean it looks gorgeous and sounds good but was it good to ride? I know a bloke who has the Domiantor SS but he’s never ridden it which seems daft to me.

I was reading in an article elswhere, that Norton want to play at the luxury end of the market. Low volume, high price, niche appeal. Akin to being the Britsh version of MV Agusta I guess.

Time will tell if they can achieve their aspirations.....

Not a glowing review by MCN. Ironic given how far they were wholly uncritical of the bikes under the former owner.

Summed up by

Aprillia V4 factory, better in every respect and half the price.

In fact every competitor to the Norton , is massively cheaper .

Really can't see a reason to buy, don't even think it'll appreciate or hold its value at all, it's not that good.

Anyone who buys one over an Aprilia or Ducati needs their head examining imo but each to their own.

You could but an old Vincent for £40k…. That would handle worse and be slower than an RSV and Ducati too. I guess it is down to the individual and what they want to get from their biking experience.
