Things wrongly delivered to you

I’m sure we’ve all had parcels and deliveries delivered to us by mistake.
Today I had the biggest misdelivery of all time.
It’s a pallet of wine, decent stuff, including Mouton Rothschild, Romanee Conti and Haut Brion. A conservative guess would put its value at £50-55 thousand.
Being the honest sort of chap that I am, I’ve informed the couriers of their mistake, and the goodies will be collected tomorrow. I’ve attached a photo of one page of the delivery note just for fun!

The other way round for me this week.
I have been getting things sent to a mate in NZ who is flying out to meet us next week, all going fine until one courier refused to leave parcels where instructed and insisted on a signature.
Got them redirected to his work but someone liked the company name (large boating/fishing co) that was all over the packing tape and must have decided they needed them more than I.
I got the 'delivered' email and messaged mate, no not received by him.
Roll forward a few days and a couple of emails from him to all staff on site and , miraculously, they appeared in his office while he was at lunch.
Obviously opened and rummaged through but nothing missing luckily

Got a box of John Lewis flowers, my address but didn’t recognise the name, rang JL up and they said keep the flowers, they will contact the purchaser for the correct address and send out a new box. Not received any more flowers so presumably they got the correct address with that one.
About 10 years ago a box of M&S wine with my name on arrived at my parent’s address where I was staying at the time, I hadn’t ordered anything. Pitty it wasn’t good wine.

I don't drink but I thought wine needs to be kept within certain temperature parameters to stay in optimum state? Even more so with this expensive stuff. Clearly not..Today I had the biggest misdelivery of all time.

You’re right to a certain degree, for long term storage, you’d want to keep your precious wines in a controlled environment. Emperor's new clothes....?
However no harm will come to it from transporting it. Wine comes into this country from all over the globe.
Emperors new clothes? I don’t know, I’m unlikely to ever be in the market for. £6-7 thousand bottle of wine. Will it really be 400 times “better” than a nice bottle from an Indy wine merchant?
